As a woman, I am upset with the lengths politicians such as John Cleveland will go to manipulate women for their votes.
Recently, I received a mail piece which attacked Cleveland’s opponent, Eric Brakey, stating that Brakey is against mammograms for women.
I have met Brakey; he is a fine young man who cares about people. The claim didn’t sound true to me, so I searched for the article that the mailer listed as its source but it does not appear to exist.
Politicians often misrepresent their opponents’ records, but I was disappointed to see Cleveland using such scare tactics against women to exploit our fears.
I hope that the women of Auburn, Mechanic Falls, Minot, New Gloucester and Poland will see through that questionable mailer and search out the real facts for themselves.
