TURNER — North Turner Union Presbyterian Church will hold its popular Harvest Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

This annual event marks the end of the public supper season for the church and also the final chance to bid on the yearly handmade quilt. This year’s quilt was made by Martha Hodgkins of Turner. The winner of the quilt will be announced at the conclusion of the supper.

The cooks at North Turner Presbyterian always outdo themselves on this supper which includes roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, several salads and vegetables as well as rolls and homemade apple crisp. All kinds of surprises always appear at this supper as gardening season is wrapping up in the area.

The money raised from the supper and the sale of the quilt goes toward the church’s community outreach activities including the Turner Food Bank, the Community Clothing Center and various church programs.

For those who have some physical disabilities, there is a new walkway at the GAR Hall providing much easier access to the building. The church would like to thank Dan Smith of Buckfield for his donation of this very needed amenity. The GAR Hall is approximately 1/4-mile east of the Route 4 and Route 219 (Howes Corner Road) intersection.

There is no set cost but donations are taken at the door. For more information, call 224-7913 or 224-8007.
