1915 – 2014

LEWISTON — Mary A. Quimby, 98, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Oct. 6, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Bancroft on Oct. 11, 1915, a daughter of Duncan and Alice (Reed) McKenzie.

Mary loved her children, grandchildren and her entire family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. She also enjoyed visiting her hometown of Bancroft and socializing with friends and family.

Survivors include three sons, Albert and wife, Pauline, as well as James and wife, Josie, all of Florida, and Walter and wife, Mary, of Lewiston; and one sister, Evelyn Irish, of Bancroft. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, many great- and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Ralph, she was predeceased by three daughters, Charlotte, Gloria and Louise.

Mary’s family would like to thank all the nurses and staff on 4 West at d’Youville Pavilion for the wonderful care given to our mother during her stay.
