FALMOUTH (AP) — A man barred from working as a home repair contractor in Massachusetts for not completing work for which he had been paid now faces similar charges in Maine.

Police say 41-year-old Richard Myers was apprehended at a Falmouth bar on Wednesday and charged with theft and violation of conditions of release.

The Maine Attorney General’s office says it has received more than a dozen complaints from Cumberland County homeowners saying Myers took deposits for work that he either didn’t do or left unfinished.

Falmouth police Lt. John Kilbride says a local couple paid a $700 deposit for chimney work on their home, but Myers never showed up.

Myers has operated under the name Atlantic Restoration Co. and Beacon Light Chimney.
