1929 – 2014

FARMINGTON — Constance Beverly Franchetti, 85, of Farmington and formerly of Wilton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Pinewood Terrace after a short illness.

She was born in Wilton on Jan. 30, 1929, the oldest of three daughters to William E. and Mary Ilene Smith. Bev was a graduate of Wilton Academy, Class of 1946. She furthered her education at Bliss Business College. She married Robert L. Franchetti, who passed away in 2002.

For many years, Bev was the librarian’s secretary at Mt. Blue High School. She enjoyed her job and all the librarians she worked for.

In retirement, Bev and Bob spent 10 wonderful years as snowbirds at The Villages in Florida, where they were active participants in many activities, such as the Maine Club. They traveled to Bermuda, China, Thailand and across Canada. Bev also traveled to Europe and many other destinations.

Bev enjoyed attending Maine State Music Theatre as well as her children’s and grandchildren’s athletic, musical and school events. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, feeding and watching birds, family outings, crafts and quilting, animals and most especially her grandchildren, who were the joys of her life.

Bev was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilton and St. Joseph’s Parish in Farmington. She was a member of Tyngtown Club, St. Joseph’s Altar Guild, Red Hat Society, Wilson Lake Country Club and the Wilton Historical Society.

Bev is survived by her children, Peter and his wife, Jane, Betsy and her husband, Jim, Steve and his wife, Shelley, John and David and his wife, Kary; her grandchildren include Mika, Garrett, Anthony, Adam, Derek, Alyssa, Alex and Thomas; her sister, June and her husband, Jerry; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bob; her sister, Shirley; her brother-in-law, Robert; her grandson, Ryan; and her faithful companion, Buddy.

Bev’s family would like to thank Noreen Comeau, NP; Beacon Hospice; and especially the staff at Pinewood Terrace for the excellent loving care she received during her residence there.
