AUGUSTA — Maine author Bill Roorbach, whose novel “Life Among Giants” is this year’s A Capital Read selection, was nominated for the prestigious Kirkus Prize for his new book, “The Remedy For Love.”
Roorbach will discuss “Life Among Giants” in an informal book group at Lithgow Public Library at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Later, the author will speak at 7 p.m. at Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital Street. Afterward, Roorbach will answer questions, greet readers and sign copies of his books.
“Having Bill Roorbach nominated for the Kirkus Prize for fiction reinforces our belief that he is an author coming into his full voice and vision as a writer,” said Lithgow Library Director Elizabeth Pohl. “We wish him well and look forward to reading his nominated book, ‘The Remedy For Love,’ out this month.”
is a “big-hearted, big-boned story” that follows a young man’s larger-than-life quest to unravel the mystery surrounding his parents’ deaths.
HBO is currently developing a multi-year series based on the novel.
