1951 – 2014

YARMOUTH — Georgieanne Marie (Gardner) Gormley, 63, of Yarmouth died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 8, with her family by her side after a struggle with cancer.

Georgie was born March 12, 1951, in Lewiston, the daughter of Robert and Rose Gardner. Georgie graduated from Mexico High School.

Georgie had a zest for life and thoroughly enjoyed gardening, time at the family camp in Houlton and spending winters in Florida with her husband.

In 1980, Georgie married the love of her life, Timothy Gormley. They lived happily for 34 years in Yarmouth. Tim and Georgie had two beautiful boys, Jonathan and Matthew.

In addition to raising their two children, Georgie spent time as a CNA, working within the Yarmouth school nutrition department, and retired as a pharmacy technician.

Georgie will be especially remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, tenaciousness, beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

Georgie is survived by her husband, Tim Gormley; two sons, Jonathan Gormley and wife, Emily, of Westbrook and Matthew Gormley and wife, Laura, of Portland; her siblings, Robert J. Gardner and wife, Mary, of Brewer, Arthur P. Gardner and wife, Cheryl, of Mexico, Cynthia J. Bernard and husband, Lawrence, of Rumford, Roger G. Gardner and wife, Pamela, of Auburn, twins, Michael T. Gardner of Greene, Mark A. Gardner and wife, Janet, of Rumford and Michelle R. Fergola and husband, Robert, of Mexico.
