In a recent letter, House Rep. Gary Knight claimed that Sen. John Patrick told him a while ago that he “owned” his Senate seat and didn’t even have to campaign against his opponent, Joe Martin. Patrick denied making that comment to Knight.
In the same letter, Knight implied that there is something wrong that Patrick would accept Clean Election funding and would always vote with the AFL/CIO. Candidates who use Clean Election funding are more likely to vote for policies that benefit all Mainers; not their wealthy donors.
Sen. Patrick proudly supports the middle class. As a committee member of Labor, Commerce, Veterans and Legal Affairs, he focuses on the needs of working families, lowering health care costs and promoting education and training that will lead to economic opportunity for everyone.
I support John Patrick. He deserves support on Nov. 4.
