BYRON — A young man was injured Saturday when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding rolled over off No. 6 Road near the East Branch of the Swift River.
Initial radio traffic at 3 p.m. to Med-Care Ambulance, Roxbury, Mexico, Rumford and Weld fire departments indicated that the 20-year-old had badly fractured a leg and had to be carried.
A Mexico firefighter said Saturday evening that Mexico firefighters set up a landing zone on a bridge on No. 6 Road for a LifeFlight medical helicopter. He said he believed the helicopter took the man to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
No further information was available Saturday night.
