AUGUSTA — Join some of Maine’s finest comedians—Tim Hofmann, Aharon Hebert, Jordan Handren-Seavey, and Will Green—at UMA for an evening of hilarity while supporting a fantastic cause from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at UMA’s Jewett Hall Auditorium. The stand-up comics are the headlining performers for the UMA Alumni Association’s Fundraiser Comedy Night. All proceeds benefit the UMAAA scholarship fund for future UMA students.

Portland, Maine-based comic, and UMA alumni (class of 2001), Tim Hofmann has been described as one of the most fun, bizarre and original acts on the Maine comedy circuit. Blisteringly fast, explicit, over-the-top rants packed with punchlines are Hofmann’s trademark. A veteran of hundreds of open mics and bar shows around the country, Hofmann has been developing his stand-up act on stages in NYC, Boston and Portland since 2004. In addition to recent appearances on local television, Hofmann is the producer of Laugh Shack, a consistently packed, underground comedy club in Portland.

Joining Hofmann will be Portland Comedy Co-op members Aharon Hebert, Jordan Handren-Seavey, and Will Green. Handren-Seavey, a regular at the Comedy Studio in Boston, applies an analytical approach to comedy to mine humor from everyday life in a dynamic manner. Hebert began his comedy career in the New York and Boston improv scenes and has since brought his one-of-a-kind style back to his home state. Green shares stories of his rural upbringing, 10 years of teaching, and a slew of failures along the way. Using his signature style and relatable personality, Green can twist any story into something hilarious.

General admission tickets are $10 per person, and all show attendees must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets can be pre-purchased at www.uma.edu/alumnievents.html or at the door.
