1932 – 2014

POLAND — Audrey A. Harrington, 82, of Poland, passed away at peace in her home on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Audrey, also known as “Mother” and “Nana,” was born on March 4, 1932, in Readfield, and she spent her entire life as a Mainer.

Audrey was first married to Robert Marshall Sr. on July 3, 1947. She was predeceased by him after 19 years.

Audrey was also predeceased by her second husband of 25 years, Harold Harrington.

Audrey worked several years at Carleton Woolen Mill in Winthrop, Kents Hill apple orchard and retired as head of housekeeping at Kents Hill School in Kents Hill.

She was the core of her BIG family. She was an avid bingo lover and she used to make it a tradition to take her grandkids to their first bingo game when they turned the legal age. Audrey loved to get together with everyone and play poker, even if it was for pennies. She loved crocheting, playing cards, going to Foxwoods and playing the lottery scratch tickets.

Audrey wanted one thing in life and that was a million dollars, but never got it. Maybe she found it in Heaven.

Audrey is survived by her children, Linda Mcmillon and her husband, Bob, from Fort Mills, S.C., Alice Smith and her husband, Arthur, from Winthrop, Robert Marshall Jr. and his wife, Patty, from Winthrop, and Cheryl A. Carter from Poland. Audrey was a proud grandparent of 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her four siblings, Hilda Green, Olga Crocker, Ilene Wing and Kathleen Williams.
