1916 – 2014
BRUNSWICK — Claire A. (Nadeau) Bichrest, 98, of Richmond Elder Care and formerly of Hewey St. in Lisbon Falls, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Oct. 18, with her family by her side.
She was born in Brunswick on Feb. 19, 1916, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Marie (Lavoie) Nadeau. She grew up in the Brunswick area and was educated in the Brunswick Catholic school system. Claire was always employed as a factory worker performing various jobs until her retirement in 1978. During that time, she married Stephen M. Bichrest Sr. on Sept. 3, 1938, at St. John’s Church in Brunswick. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls and will always be remembered for her love of spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Stephen M. Bichrest Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., Joan Karkos of Spokane, Wash., and Marcel Bichrest and his wife, Evangeline, of Lisbon Falls. She also leaves behind a brother, Roger Nadeau and his wife, Betty, of Brunswick; as well as 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen M. Bichrest Sr.; and three brothers, Gerard, Robert and Roland.
