1924 – 2014
AUBURN — Richard “Max” Rush, 90, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Clover Nursing Home in Auburn.
He was born in Livermore on Jan. 14, 1924, the son of Arthur and Mable Rush. Max was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He was married to Doris Rush, until she passed away in 1991.
His career began in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. He served for 27 years when he was discharged as a staff sergeant. He was a very dedicated veteran and had a lot of respect for all military personnel. He shared many great stories of his years in the military and all the places he served. After his retirement, Max worked in law enforcement as a Jay police officer. He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Max leaves behind his wife, Elsie B. Rush, whom he married in 2002. They resided in Lewiston and enjoyed many of those years traveling and spending time with family.
