Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the annual club appreciation game on Oct. 20 were as follows: first, Della Starbird and Pete Cummings; second, Dick Allen and Richard Balian; third, Connie and Ron Reynolds; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Nancy Farmer; first in B, Della Starbird and Peter Cummings; second, Connie and Ron Reynolds.

Winners on Oct. 21 were as follows: N/S, first, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Les Buzzell and John Pettengill; third/fourth tie, Rosemarie and Tom Goodwin with Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; first in B, Connie and Ron Reynolds; E/W, first, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; second, Claire Lyons and Paul Clement; third, Debra Gardner and Mike True; first in B, Claire Lyons and Paul Clement; second, Norma and Rick Verrill.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.

Oxford Hills AARP meeting

PARIS — The Oxford Hills chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, Nov. 3, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street, South Paris.

Lunch will be served at noon. Swedish meatballs with noodles will be the main dish. The cost is now $7 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by Friday, Oct. 31.

The business meeting will begin at 12:45. The group continues to support the local Food Pantry and money donations for Christmas for Kids will be welcomed. The book/puzzle swap will also continue.

The speaker will be Scott Vlaun from CEDE with information about the community collaboration for the Alan Day Garden as well as the Food Forest.

Hunters breakfast at Buckfield Legion

BUCKFIELD — A hunters breakfast will be held from 5 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Buckfield American Legion, Morrill Street.

The cost is $6 or $5 with a nonperishable food donation for the Thanksgiving Basket project; $3 under age 5.
