1935 – 2014

NORWAY — Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jean C. Rowe Blanchard-Vincent, 79, of Bryant Pond, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimers.

Born in Connecticut, Jean moved to Maine as a child, residing in Bryant Pond for decades. She raised her family and foster children and earned an Associate’s Degree in business administration at Mid-State College in Auburn.

She worked for many years for the Bethel Family Health Center in Bethel, where she received many awards and recognition. She provided home care for an elderly gentleman and later worked for Irving in Bethel and Breau’s Too in Bryant Pond.

Jean enjoyed many activities including, trips to the ocean, lakes, gardening, flowers, walking, quilting, sewing, animals, horseback riding and a variety of music. She had a beautiful voice and sang and played piano for many occasions. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by husband, George Vincent; her daughter, Bethany Dunham; son and daughter, Michael and Cheryl Moody; and foster son, Steven Hull, who she had hoped to be reunited with. Surviving grandchildren include Jeremy and wife, Randilee, Amanda and Dan Dunham.

Jean was predeceased by husbands, Rodney Rowe (1972) and Jonathan P. Blanchard (1996); and siblings, Doris Mansfield, Donald Carini and Marilyn Morgan.

The memories of her beautiful smile, love of life and kind thoughtful ways will be cherished.
