NORWAY — The Western Foothills Land Trust’s Oct. 26 Mountain Bike Biathlon at Roberts Farm Preserve has been postponed until Nov. 23 due to weather.

The nor’easter that has settled in over Maine has put a damper on plans for a mountain bike biathlon at Roberts Farm on Sunday. Post-storm conditions will be slippery, dangerous and possibly damaging to the preserve’s grassed trails.

So the event is going to be postponed and offered the same day as the scheduled dry-land biathlon, Sunday, Nov. 23, at Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Road.

Registration and air-rifle target practice will be offered from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The 3 x 1k and 3 x 2k races will start at 11 followed by an awards ceremony.

The Mountain Bike Biathlon, which combines single track and wide trails, will start at 1.

Race entry will be free, donations for trail maintenance are welcomed. Air rifles are provided.

Any SAD17 student interested in the mountain bike biathlon who needs a bike for the race should contact Pete Toohey at the OHCHS or Lee Dassler at the Western Foothills Land Trust at 739-2124.
