There are many letters to the editor these days supporting various candidates. I wanted to write one to support Sen. John Cleveland.
People may not understand the hard work that legislators have to do to be effective in Augusta. My job requires me to interact with the Utilities, Energy and Technology Committee, of which Sen. Cleveland is chairman, and I have been able to observe his work on a first-hand basis.
He is always present for committee meetings. He is always very well prepared, even on the most difficult topics. He treats colleagues who have different points of view with respect. He is diplomatic. He does his job with good humor.
If people want an example of what their representatives should do after they have been elected, they should look no further than John Cleveland.
