1931 – 2014

JAY — Norman J. Ouellette, 83, a resident of Jay, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1931, the son of Sylvio Ouellette and Diana (Theriault) Ouellette. He graduated from Jay High School. On Sept. 29, 1951, he married his wife, Barbara “Babbie” Ouellette, at St. Rose of Lima in Jay.

Norman worked for International Paper at the Otis and Androscoggin mills in Jay as a machine tender, and retired in 1987. He was a member of the International Paper Quarter Century Club and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, shooting pool and horse shoe competitions. He and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively through Canada, the United States and Europe.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Ouellette, of Jay; daughters, Gail Desjardins and husband, Gary, of Livermore Falls and Vicki Ouellette of Florida; sons, Norman Ouellette and wife, Mia, of Arundel, David Ouellette and wife, Nanette, of West Gardiner, Steven Ouellette and wife, Jill, of Kennebunk and Albert Ouellette and wife, Theresa, of Gleason, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
