FARMINGTON — The annual Farmington Old South First Congregational Church harvest supper will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.

Chairwoman Brenda Scribner, chef Stan Wheeler and Rocel Marcellino are busy with the planning and preparation for this much-anticipated annual church event.

The buffet-style supper will offer fresh-out-of-the-oven roast turkey and baked ham, along with mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash, rolls, cranberry jelly, beverages and homemade pies.

The cost is $9 for adults and $6 for children under 12, with family discounts available.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s 2015 youth summer camp scholarship program. This program helps provide the youth of Old South Church with financial assistance to attend the Maine UCC Conference summer church camp, Pilgrim Lodge, located on Cobbosseecontee Lake in Litchfield.

According to Carolyn Parr, member of the Women of Old South, “Hundreds of scholarships have been awarded to youth over the decades since the scholarship program has been made available.”
