1956 – 2014

Auburn—Billy Helms, 57, of Livermore Falls, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, at the hospice house in Auburn.

He was born Oct. 4, 1956, in Chicago, Ill., to Mildred Padilla and James Helms. He was a great man, father, friend, brother and most important, grampie. He had a sense of humor that was one of a kind and anyone who knew him would agree. He lived his life for his kids and tried to help them as much as possible.

He is survived by best friend and companion of 16 years, Barbra Mercier of Farmington; sister, Cindy Padilla of Monmouth; brothers, Robert Helms of North Carolina, David Helms of California, and Mike Helms of Missouri; a grandson that he was extremely close to, Jordan Morse of Livermore Falls; four kids, Kim Helms of Livermore Falls, Melissa Helms of Warren, Steven Helms of Winthrop and Kevin Helms of Florida; three stepkids, Chastity Timberlake of Florida, Christina Figuera of California, and Larry Chapman of Rumford; and one adopted son, Cory Flagg of Lewiston. He had 13 grand-kids Kortney, Kurtland, Haylee, Izak, Darian, Maia, Wyatt, Emily, Rylee, Cameron, Mason, Jaidyn, Jaycee and one unborn. He also had two adopted grandkids, Ethan and Koralee, all of whom he loved very much.

He is predeceased by his mother, Mildred Padilla of Livermore Falls; and his brothers, Jim Helms and Louis Padilla of California.
