BRIDGTON — A sunset-moonrise hike up Loon Echo Land Trust’s Bald Pate Mountain in South Bridgton will take place on Thursday, Nov. 6.

Hikers will leave the main parking lot off Route 107 at 3:45 p.m. and head to the summit.

From the summit of Bald Pate Mountain, participants will watch the sun set over the western foot hills at 4:28 p.m., followed by the rise of the full moon in the east at 4:33 p.m.

Be prepared with warm clothing and appropriate boots or shoes for hiking. A warm beverage, snacks and a headlamp are recommended. If it is overcast, the event will be canceled.

Loon Echo Land Trust protects land in the northern Sebago Lake region of Maine. Its mission is to conserve the region’s natural resources and character for current and future generations.

Currently, Loon Echo protects over 5,900 acres of land, and Bald Pate Mountain is one of seven preserves that are open to the public for hiking, fishing, hunting, nature observation and other low impact recreation.
