HIRAM (AP) — The two teenagers who died in a car crash near Sacopee Valley High School in Hiram last weekend were recent graduates of the school.
Police on Monday identified the victims of the crash at about 2 a.m. Saturday as 18-year-old Andrew Stanley, of Porter, and 19-year-old Isaac Moore, of Parsonfield. Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene. Moore died at the hospital.
Both graduated last spring.
The 17-year-old driver was treated and released from the hospital. A 16-year-old passenger remains hospitalized.
The crash remains under investigation but police say it appears as if the driver lost control before striking a utility pole. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
About 300 people attended a vigil for Stanley and Moore on Monday night.
