NEW VINEYARD — Police said a local woman is accused of shoving, pushing and scratching a man at a home on New Vineyard Road on Wednesday.

Stacy O’Neal, 40, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault, Lt. David St. Laurent said Thursday. There were no weapons or threats involved, he said.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies responded to the home twice Wednesday. The first time was at 10:30 a.m. for a verbal dispute between two people, Laurent said.

Deputies were called again at 2:50 p.m. for a man who reported being assaulted. Detective Kenneth Charles and Deputy Nicholas Zecher interviewed them separately, St. Laurent said, and arrested O’Neal.

O’Neal was being held on $750 cash bail Thursday afternoon.

A conviction on the charge carries a penalty of up to 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
