ALDER STREAM TOWNSHIP — A truck driver received minor injuries when he lost control of a tractor-trailer truck about 1 p.m. Monday on Route 27, near North Road, and the truck ended up jack-knifing and blocking part of the road, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.

The truck was traveling southbound when the crash occurred.

Deputies asked the Maine Department of Environmental Protection to send help because one of the truck’s fuel tanks ruptured.

Eustis firefighters assisted at the scene. Approximately 65 gallons of fuel leaked from the tank but was contained, Nichols said.

The driver, Patrick Paquet, 40, of Saint-Come-Liniere, Quebec, was hauling bark mulch for a biomass plant.
