1923 – 2014
LEWISTON — Florence E. Wood, 91, of Sabattus, joined the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, Nov. 15, after a short stay at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Lewiston, daughter of the late Archie and Grace York Dobson. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married June 3, 1945, to Lester A. Wood, who predeceased her in 1982.
For many years she and her husband owned and operated Stevens Feed Store in Sabattus. Florence was a member of the Sabattus Community Baptist Church.
She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Florence also enjoyed her annual cruises in the Caribbean.
She is survived by her brother, Linwood Dobson of Lewiston; two daughters, Patricia LeBlanc and husband, Edmond, of Lisbon, Donna Gallagher and husband, James, of Bowdoin; three grandchildren, Lisa Bussiere and husband, Tony, Wendy Roy and Robert Roderick; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by one brother, Richard Dobson Sr. in 1974.
