RUMFORD — A fireman’s funeral celebrating the life of Jerome D. “Jerry” Bragdon of Peru was conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., P.O. Box 527, Rumford, ME 04276, with David Blouin officiating.

Words of remembrance were given by his friend, Kathy Hussey; Med-Care representative, Dean Milligan, who read remembrances written by Peru Fire Chief Bill Hussey; daughter, Pamela Bragdon; and son, Reginald Bragdon.

At the conclusion of the service, a firemen’s “all out” tone alert for fireman Jerome D. Bragdon was broadcast to all emergency services. Peru Fire Chief Bill Hussey escorted Jerome’s urn to a Peru firetruck that was dedicated to Jerry and Ginny Bragdon for the trip to Demerritt Cemetery in West Peru for interment. Also leading the procession to the cemetery were firetrucks and vehicles from Dixfield, Andover, Mexico, Rumford, Defreesville, the Maine Forest Service and Med-Care.

Committal services were conducted by David Blouin. A reception followed at the American Legion Hall on Congress Street in Rumford.
