1935 – 2014

AUBURN — Maurice “Moe” St. Laurent, 79, of Lisbon, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with his loving wife by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 9, 1935, a son of Joseph and Mathilda (Bisson) St. Laurent. He attended Lewiston schools and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1958. He married the former Stella Ouellette of Brunswick in 1961.

Moe worked as a truck driver for 35 years at Sanborn’s Motor Express and APA Transport. After retiring from full time driving, he worked for Western Maine Transportation for several years.

Moe was an avid golfer in both Maine and Florida. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Stella, of Lisbon; one son, Jim St. Laurent and wife, Linda, of Harpswell; one daughter, Debbie Bechard and husband, Don, of Monmouth; one brother, Normand St. Laurent, of Lewiston; and three sisters, Ida Carrier of Lewiston, Rita County of New Hampshire and Julliette Morency of North Carolina. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two expected great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by five sisters, MarieAnge, Aimee, Laurette, Fernande and Anita; and four brothers, Leo, Lawrence, Harvey and Harry.
