NORWAY — Lee Dassler of the Western Foothills Land Trust announced Thursday that the times for Sunday’s bike biathlon have changed for the mountain bike division.

The inaugural Mountain Bike Biathlon is being held Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Roberts Farm Preserve at 64 Roberts Road in Norway.

The new mass start time for the bike biathlon is 10 a.m. The trail run biathlon will follow at 11 a.m.

Dassler said there will be two types of dry land air rifle biathlons, the bike biathlon and the 3k and 6k trail-run biathlon. Air rifles will be provided.

On-site registration will open at 8:30 a.m. There is no fee for this event, but donations are appreciated. Target practice will be held from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

The bike course is an enjoyable mix of trail and single track, Dassler said. Riders will bike three 1k loops interspersed with two recumbent target sessions, penalty loops as needed.

The 3k and 6k run biathlon will have a mass start at 11 a.m., when runners will complete three loops either 1k or 2k in distance interspersed with two recumbent target sessions, penalty loops as needed.

Spectators are welcome.
