LIVERMORE FALLS — The Spirit of the Season Parade Committee will move forward with the 5 p.m. parade Saturday, Dec.6.
People have stepped up to enter a few floats and there are potentially more entries, committee member Jackie Knight said Sunday.
The parade had been in jeopardy of being canceled because there was only one float entry as of Thursday.
Lineup for the parade is a 4:30 p.m. at MEMCO on Main Street/Route 4 in Jay. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. and travel down Main Street into downtown Livermore Falls.
Santa won’t be getting off the firetrucks to meet with children as he has in the past. Instead, he will go to Santa’s Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the cafeteria of the former Livermore Falls High School on Cedar Street.
Children can shop for gifts for parents during the workshop. The gifts cost 25 cents and will be wrapped.
Anyone who wants to enter a float or participate in the parade is asked to call Barbara Cook at 645-4753 or 778-1297, or Jackie Knight at 577-2755.
