RUMFORD —

Bohren has created a show that combines the talents of veteran RAAPA chorus members with young adults and children from the community that will tap into the child in all of us. It is titled “Christmas Is For Children” and is based on the idea that during Christmas everyone reverts to childhood in some way.

Bohren pointed out that, “Whether you become excited by the decorations and the gifts, the history and the tradition, the celebration of the birth of the Christ child, or the simple belief in the magic of the season, Christmas can transform just about anyone and bring them back to the happy memory of being a child at Christmas. And few things can assist with that transformation the way music does.”

Presented in two fast-paced acts, this family-friendly show is charged with high energy and fun. There will be traditional holiday favorites like “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the  Year,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas Medley,” “The Polar Express Medley” and “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas.”

The show will also include a traditional Nativity scene that will be presented during musical pieces such as “Silent Night, Holy Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Sing We Now Of Christmas.” Santa could also make an appearance.

The show will be performed at the Muskie Auditorium at Mountain Valley High School at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, and are available at Bartash (Rumford), Port to Port (Rumford), Mountain View Eye Care (Rumford), Larsen’s Electric (Mexico), the Log Cabin (Dixfield), or from any RAAPA member.
