LEWISTON — The National Weather Service warns that the 2 to 4 inches of snow expected to fall on Androscoggin County on Tuesday night will turn to sleet and freezing rain early Wednesday morning.
The temperatures should be warm enough — in the 40s — about 9 a.m. to turn any precipitation into rain.
The winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 11 a.m. Wednesday. An advisory means the mixed precipitation is expected to make travel conditions difficult, according to the NWS. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and limited visibility.
