1923 – 2014

AUBURN — Carmen Aline Zadakis, 91, of Rumford passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, Dec. 2, when the angels came to take her home.

Carmen was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Lewiston to Ulric and Annie (Bradbury) Dionne.

She was married to Peter Zadakis in 1962; he passed away in 1980.

Carmen was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo and shopping. She loved angels and also loved watching the “Walton’s” because it reminded her of her childhood. She was a wonderful cook, especially of meat pies, creton and candy cookies.

Carmen was called “memere” by her grandchildren and “ma tante” by nieces and nephews.
