PORTLAND — Authorities say an inmate found unconscious in his cell at Cumberland County Jail in Portland had died.
A corrections officer doing a security check found 33-year-old Miles Hartford of Leeds unconscious just after 9 p.m. Sunday. Efforts to revive him failed.
Hartford was being held on charges, including operating after license suspension, violation of condition of release, operating under the influence and failure to submit to arrest.
Portland police are investigating.
