1937 – 2014
WINTHROP — Robert March Loon Sr., 77, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully in his home after a period of declining health on Saturday, Dec. 13.
He was born in Monmouth on Oct. 29, 1937, to Clifton and Marion March Loon. He retired from Progressive Iron Works in Winthrop after many years of service.
Robert enjoyed old cars, reading and watching sports on television, and he loved spending time with and being looked after by his former wife and best friend, Beth Loon.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Loon Jr. and wife, Melinda, and Raymond Loon Sr. and wife, Noella, all of Jay; daughter, Delores Barbioni and companion, Rene Fontaine, of Monmouth; stepdaughters, Susan Williams, Kathy Jandreau, Pauline Williams, Caroline Ridley and Lisa Adams; grandchildren, Brittany Caron, Bre-ann Nemi, Daydra Loon, Raymond Loon Jr., Bradley Loon, Sierra Poulin, Andy Barbioni, Brandi Barbioni and Helena Bridgham; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rachael Wallace, of Florida.
He was predeceased by Shirley Loon Marchetti; Mary Ann Loon; his brother, Richard Loon; and his stepson, Douglas Williams Jr.
