PORTLAND — A Maine government survey says the average statewide cash price for heating oil dropped 7 cents in the past week.

The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price according to the Nov. 24 survey was $2.86. The average kerosene price of $3.46 was also 7 cents lower than last week. Propane prices declined a penny to $2.77. Heating oil averaged $3.66 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene dropped 60 cents in that time and propane dropped 15 cents.

The highest price for heating oil was found in southwest Maine, where prices reached $3.20. The lowest prices were in southwestern, eastern and western Maine, where the low mark was $2.45.
