DIXFIELD — The Dixfield American Legion will host its annual New Year’s Eve dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, post Commander Ed Ellis said.

Ellis, who has been involved with the past four dances, said funds raised go to projects.

“We have a lot of stuff going on, so we make sure the funds go towards our ongoing projects and fundraisers,” Ellis said.

Tickets are $7 per person or $10 per couple.

Rumford music group Noel Palmer and Don will perform.

“We have Noel Palmer and Don here every year on New Year’s Eve,” Ellis said. “Everyone asks for them, so we make sure that they’re the performers.”

Attendees will have the chance to participate in a Chinese auction.

“When people walk in, they can buy an envelope that has a certain number of chips inside of it,” Ellis said. “They can walk around to different items in the room that are up for auction, which have buckets in front of them. Once people figure out what they want, they place their chips in the bucket in front of the item. At the end of the night, we go around to each item and draw a chip from the bucket. The item goes to whoever’s chip we select.”

Legion members and residents donated items for the auction, Ellis said.

Refreshments would be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary.
