FARMINGTON — Henderson Memorial Baptist Church and Summit Faith Community will celebrate the birth of the Christ Child together at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve.

The community is invited to join this service in the church with the bells and the lighted steeple at 110 Academy St. in Farmington.

The Rev. Susan Crane and the Rev. Ryan Goding will lead the worship service, featuring traditional readings from Scripture interspersed with Christmas carols sung by the whole congregation.

Readers from both congregations will tell the Bible story of the first Christmas.

Crystal McBean will sing “Mary, Did You Know?” accompanied by Greg Hazard on guitar. The Henderson Choir will sing an anthem, “Child of God,” directed by organist and choir Director Daniel Woodward.

During the singing of “Silent Night” candles will be lit from the Christ Candle in the center of the Advent wreath.

A Christmas Eve offering will be received for two community ministries: the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund and Western Maine Homeless Outreach Shelter.

All are welcome.
