SOUTH PASADENA, Fla. — Sonia J. Geiger, 95, of South Pasadena, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 17, at The Springs in South Pasadena.
Born and raised in Maine, Sonia was a legal and executive secretary while raising her family. A lively presence, a generous person and a good friend to many, Sonia will be missed.
She retired to Florida in 1977. Until her ill health, she volunteered many years at a local hospital and was a member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Greater Gulf Beaches.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Karnes; seven grandchildren, two of them being local, Wanda Tripp of Mechanic Falls and Christine McMillen of Lewiston; 13 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Kate Thornton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Thornton; her second husband, Frank Geiger; and sons, Walter and Lawrence Thornton.
