PORTLAND (AP) — Central Maine Power Co. says more than 450 customers are without power due to high winds.

The utility reported that number is down from more rthan 1,100 early Friday. Franklin, Oxford and Somerset counties were hardest hit.

Central Maine Power spokeswoman Gail Rice told the Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1APoui3 ) that most of the outages began between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday. She says they were caused by high winds.

Emera Maine reported about 500 outages after midnight.
