and Brian Kavanah who will present a mix of classic jazz, folk songs at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14.

Davis plays and sings a mix of traditional and original songs. He weaves storytelling, intricate guitar playing, and evocative lyrics full of poetic imagery. His songs present a series of musical short stories focused on topics from reincarnation to love, doubt, survival, and redemption.

Davis and Kavanah have performed together around Maine as “Hurry Down Sunshine.” Their musical collaboration mixes Kavanah’s resonant voice and rhythmic playing with Davis’s storytelling and soaring guitar leads. Their music combines deep, emotional vocals and improvised acoustic guitar melodies.

The evening will open with a reading by poet Kathryn Tracy. She has taken poetry classes with Dominique Bartels, Megan Grumbling and Betsy Sholl. She experiences poetry as a way to savor the details and dilemmas of daily life.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be offered at intermission. A suggested $10 donation toward the artists and the many neighborhood ministries of Trinity Church may be made at the door; admission for kids is free. Trinity is at 247 Bates St.
