MONDAY, Feb. 2

AUBURN — City Council workshop and regular meeting in Auburn Hall. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include lead grants and the New Auburn plan. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include zoning changes, Planning Board rule changes and a second vote on allowing alcohol at mass gathering events.

LEWISTON — School Committee, 6:45 p.m., downtown Dingley Building. Agenda: nomination of Lewiston High School assistant principal and Lewiston Middle School special education supervisor. Also, vote on Redistricting Committee’s recommendation to combine Longley and Martel schools, plus students from other schools, in a new, large prekindergarten to sixth-grade school. The borders of the new school would represent a combination of Longley and Martel.

TUESDAY, Feb. 3

LEWISTON — City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. and discussions center on the proposed Lisbon Street road project. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include special amusement permits, changes to the electrical code and the 2016 capital improvement program.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 4

AUBURN — Auburn School Committee, 7 p.m., regular meeting, City Council Chamber, Auburn Hall. Agenda: superintendent will share audit conducted for creating baseline for increasing business/community connections, and an update on strategic plan development.

LEWISTON — Debut of the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council’s documentary “We Love Lewiston” at Guthries Independent Theater, 115 Middle St. The 30-minute film is free of charge and doors open at 6 p.m. The movie will be shown at 7 p.m., followed by questions and answers with members of the youth council.

FRIDAY, Feb. 6

AUBURN — First day of three-day Auburn Winter Festival, celebration of everything winter, snow playground at Central Maine Community College, skating at Walton School, both all day; skiing at reduced prices and bonfire and kiddy sledding at Lost Valley, 4 to 8 p.m., “Fireside Chat, the Skiing History if Maine” by Scott Andrews, 6:30 p.m., Auburn Public Library. AUBURN — Second day of Auburn Winter Festival, snow playground at CMCC, skating at Walton School and at PAL Center. Events at Lost Valley include an ice sculpture contest, shovel rides, cardboard box sliding, free skiing from 4 to 8 p.m., bonfire and kiddy sledding. SUNDAY, Feb. 8

AUBURN — Auburn Winter Festival, last day, from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, rink skating and snowmobiling at Lake Auburn Community Center. Other all-day events include snow playground at CMCC, skating at Walton School, PAL Center, snowshoeing at Mt.
