HARRISON — A kite-skier was killed Monday morning after he lost control on Crystal Lake and struck a metal shed.
Chief Deputy Naldo Gagnon of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office identified the victim as 49-year-old Adam Tsapis of Harrison.
According to Harrison fire Chief Dana LaPlante, the man was on the lake around 11 a.m. on his skis, using a kite to propel him across the snow, when he lost control, drifted ashore and struck a shed.
LaPlante said Harrison Fire, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and PACE ambulance found the man critically injured.
According to LaPlante, the man was taken to Bridgton Hospital and then flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died from his injuries.
