PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine government survey said the average statewide cash price for heating oil climbed 19 cents in the past two weeks.

The Governor’s Energy Office said the average price was $2.79 a gallon, according to the Feb. 23 survey. The average kerosene price of $3.31 was 17 cents higher than two weeks ago. Propane prices rose 3 cents over the past two weeks to $2.71.

Heating oil averaged $3.87 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene was $4.32 and propane was $3.53.

The highest price for heating oil in the state was $3 while the lowest price was $2.60.

Southwestern Maine had the highest average price for kerosene at $3.33 while the average propane price topped out at $2.76 in western Maine.
