1978 – 2015

FAIRFIELD — Robert “Rob” N. Nichols III, 36, of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, Feb. 27.

Rob was born in Lewiston on Sept. 30, 1978, the son of Bob and Barb (Jordan) Nichols. He was a 1997 graduate of Winslow High School.

Rob was employed by Schneider Logistics at Sappi Fine Paper as a scheduling manager for 11 years.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and friends. Rob especially enjoyed his time at the family camp in Alexander, where he always seemed to catch the most fish. He also loved his time golfing with his dad.

Rob’s favorite sports teams were the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. This past season, he traveled to New York with his dad, Bob, and his second dad, Charlie, to watch Derek Jeter’s final home game, returning home with the biggest smile on his face.

Rob had many passions, a few of which were playing video games, listening to a variety of music, grilling and watching movies.

Rob is survived by his parents, Bob and Barb Nichols of Winslow; the love of his life, Star Evers, of Fairfield; his sister, Sarah Nichols and her fiancé, Corey Landry, of Palermo; his special nephews, Nolan and Tucker Landry; his niece, Haylee Landry; his grandparents, Austin and Bunny Frost and Arlene Nichols; his aunts, Karen “Nick” Nichols and Cherie and her husband, Butch Downing; and several cousins. He is also survived by his second family, Charlie and Dale Felker, Amy and Larry Austin, Tracy and Peter Belanger and Jessica Libby and her fiancé, Nicholas Snowdeal, and many loved ones.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Gerald “Jake” Jordan; his paternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” Nichols; and his aunt, Joline (Jordan) Plummer.
