BETHEL — Personnel from Bethel Ambulance Department will ask the Board of Selectmen on Monday for permission to sell some extra equipment.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. March 9 at the Town Office.

Town Manager Christine Landes said the board was approached by the department about selling extra stretchers.

“The town of Bethel has a law that states any equipment that’s valued over a certain amount of money needs to be put to a vote before it can be sold or disposed of,” Landes said. “It’s my understanding that the Ambulance Department had a couple of stretchers that they wanted to sell, so they’ll be pleading their case to the board on Monday.”

Selectmen will also hear requests from the Bethel Chamber of Commerce to increase the amount of money the town gives them from $3,000 to $3,200.

Landes said the extra $200 would cover holiday decorations.

“The chamber is also going to request for the closing of some of the town’s roads during some of their events,” Landes said. It makes the request every year, she said.

Other items for discussion include:

* Quitclaim deeds for residents John Adamo and Paul Stevens.

* Several committee appointments.

* Reconsideration of wastewater billing concerns.

* Executive sessions on personnel matters and discussion of confidential records.
