ARLINGTON, Va. — Joan Blair Putnam, 86, formerly of Bethel and Bryant Pond, died Thursday, Feb. 26, in Arlington, Va.
She was born in Great Barrington, Mass., on Nov. 6, 1928, the daughter of William R. Blair and Frances Harper. She married Norman A. Putnam on Aug. 21, 1948.
Joan was known for her generous volunteer spirit and many contributions to the community.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeff, Randy and his wife, Susan, and Nat; a daughter, Sarah Putnam Klimkowski; her four grandchildren, Elizabeth Klimkowski Esbenshade and her husband, Sam, Victoria Klimkowski, Daniel Klimkowski, and Rebekah Klimkowski; and great-granddaughter, River Esbenshade.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman A. Putnam.
