NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire state police say they issued a citation to a woman who crashed into another car while attempting to reverse direction using a crossover that is restricted to emergency vehicles only.

Police say 51-year-old Ann Caron of Raymond, N.H., was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in North Hampton when she attempted to make a left turn into the crossover lane just north of the open road tolling lanes.

Authorities say when Caron attempted to make the maneuver Sunday morning she turned into the path of a car driven by 63-year-old Thomas Robinson of Newburgh, Maine.

Caron was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Robinson and a passenger were treated at the scene.

Caron was cited for making an unsafe lane change. Two lanes were blocked for more than an hour.
