1935 – 2015

LEWISTON — Anne Jewett, 80, of Lewiston, died Sunday, March 29, after a brief stay at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1935, and lived most of her life in Maine.

She began her career with volunteer involvement at Head Start and in the local community action programs. She then worked about 20 years at the Department of Health and Human Services, helping the less fortunate. After retirement, she enjoyed a part-time job at TD Bank.

Her Democratic status was very important to her, and her love and support of the Obama Administration was well-known by her friends and family. She spent years researching and documenting her family genealogy and had much pride in that accomplishment.

Anne is survived by her son, Frank Jewett and his wife, Debi; daughter, Su MacLaren; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends.

In her last lucid moments, a nurse asked her how she was doing. Her answer, accompanied by a big smile, was “Supa dupa!” A few hours later, she left us.

Mom, Annie … you will always be remembered.
