1943 – 2015

MONMOUTH — Jane E. Wallace Cooper, 71, a longtime resident of Monmouth, died Saturday evening, March 28, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, following a long illness.

She was born in Winthrop on March 30, 1943, the daughter of Ralph H. and Arlene E. (Robinson) Wallace. She was educated in Winthrop schools, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1961. She married Carroll E. Cooper Sr. on Nov. 25, 1960, in Winthrop.

Jane was employed for many years with Blanchard Fire Associates of Winthrop as an administrative assistant. For more than 25 years, she owned and operated Lil’ Orbits Mini Donuts, working many fairs throughout Maine. She considered her most important position as that of homemaker, taking care of her family.

Jane was a past member and officer of the Monmouth Fair Association, the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets of Brunswick, and was a past founding member and officer of the Cochnewagan Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Cooper of Monmouth; a daughter, Kelly J. Cooper-Arsenault and her husband, Michael, of Turner; two sons, Carroll E. Cooper Jr. and Ralph “Rusty” L. Cooper, both of Monmouth; six sisters, Carol, Margie, Patti, Cathy, Joann and Lynnie and their families; six grandchildren, Joshua, Amber, Corie, Little Mike, Danny and Becca; and six great-grandchildren.
