Easter egg hunt in Farmington Sunday

FARMINGTON — Living Waters A/G in Farmington invites the public to a Giant Easter Egg Hunt for children up to 11 years of age at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 5. The Easter service will be held at 10:30 a.m. There will be adult fellowship downstairs during the egg hunt.

Gem museum opens in Bethel

FARMINGTON — The Maine Mineral & Gem Museum, located on Main Street in Bethel, is Maine’s newest museum and Director Barbra Barrett and Curator Carl Francis will present an illustrated program describing the museum’s mission, initial successes and ambitions at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at the University of Maine in Farmington. 

The presentation will be held in the Thomas Auditorium in Ricker/Preble Hall.

This is the first in a series of presentations to be given this spring introducing the museum to Maine.

This event is hosted by Archie “Bill” Berry, retired University of Maine, Farmington Professor of Geology and MMGM trustee.

Free community luncheon in Farmington

FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon at noon on Saturday, April 11. The menu will include roast pork loin, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and cake.

Delivery service will be available in the Farmington area. Call the church office at 778-0424 during the week, or the church kitchen at 778-4438, on the morning of the luncheon to have a meal delivered.

Wilton foundation accepting scholarship applications

WILTON — Applications for the 2015 Wilton Scholarship Foundation scholarships are now available online through the school counseling office link on the Mt. Blue High School website or in person at the Wilton Town Office.

All current and former graduates from Wilton, East Wilton, East Dixfield, Dryden and Weld are eligible to apply.
